So I live about 20 minutes now from a PHI base. They posted earlier in the year and I got to the phone interview stage. Supposedly another local mechanic decided to take the position so I figured that was that. Then a few months back they posted again. Not sure which mechanic left but I applied and got the standard reply so many HR's use - sorry but you're not what we're looking for but we have lots of other positions feel free to apply for them.

Well they're looking for another mechanic now and based on what I see in the new posting I am well qualified. Inquiries to HR by email and voicemail go unanswered. I don't want to waste my time or HR's applying for jobs they don't think I'm a fit for. Is this the new way of doing HR? If so it sucks I'd say.

Don't know if that base has a 145 instead of a 135. Is that a big deal for them? I'd go back to work for AMC if they had any bases close by. That leaves Metro (heard good and bad there), Medtrans or AEL (don't know much about them), in my area. I'd go Part 133 but it seems pretty tight right now so that's probably out.

I'm seeing lot's of ads and hiring bonuses I didn't see 2 or three years ago. Just curious what's going on.
