Like everything else, your experience may vary and same for those who have worked there in the past/present.  I've had nothing but good experiences from interview till now 5 years later.  I had word from a friend that he was leaving and was going to try and set me up to take his position.  It was at a base that was considered hard to fill but I lived in the area so it worked for me.  Once I said yes to my friend that I would take it, I was getting instructions within an hr or 2. At that time it was still emailing your resume vs the portal or if I did an online submission I dont remember it.  I had a phone call with the BAM (MTC speak for base lead pilot) that afternoon and a phone interview with the RAM (MTC speak for regional managar) later that evening .  He offered the job at the end of the interview and emailed me the offer letter.  It came back as step 1 pay (there was still a payscale at that time) and I asked for higher, he said he could do step 2 which was probably only $900 more but I took it.  Literally everything was taken care of in 1 afternoon but I know that is absolutely not everyones experience.  The base had a $30,000 geo mod (has since converted to a percentage based MOD and calculated differently) so the base bay wasnt as big as an issue.

I'm lucky to have a great base location, good aircraft, great crews and fellow pilots.  The flying is easy and the pay has gone up significantly in the last 5 years.  We are one of the 5 states where we get OT for anything over 40hrs in a work week and after the GMR takeover they have changed our pay to include all geos, lead pilot stipends etc into your base salary that is used to calculate your hourly rate so that all those factors are reflected in your OT rate too.  We are left alone with little micro-managing but yet we have support when needed.

Every company has their our pros/cons and I know MTC is different from when they were a smaller outfit and have lost alot of that "family values" appear especially after GMR got involved but so far it has worked out for us.  Sometimes its a matter of the place you want to live and raise a family only has one operator in the area, wether its GMR/MTC, AMC, Metro etc you just have to deal with whatever good/bad that company has to be in the area you want to be.  If you are young and single and go anywhere then maybe you look alittle closer at the exact pros/cons of each company and try to seek one out that aligns with what you like.
