Jimmy Stewart, 1 year younger, commander of a B-24 squadron with 20 combat missions and remained in the reservs, retiring as a BG. Others in their mid thirties who fought in other conflicts. It's fine if an actor wants to hide from the fight, just don't present yourself as some kind of All-American Hero.
