The military guy gets put in command of a multi million dollar turbine aircraft with a couple 300 hours of flight time, and has absolutely no idea what he's doing, in order to keep him from killing himself on the first flight he is surrounded by a labyrinth of regulations, procedures, and supervisors. He thinks this is the greatest thing ever, the civilian guy who's never been in the military has to learn everything on his own sweat out 1000 or 1500 flat hours before he gets to sweep the hanger and faces the end of his career if he screws up. Neither side knows what the other is talking about, and can only learn it through experience. This is why both of them think they are God's gift to Aviation, and neither one of them is right . |
