No doubt a favorite for those who flew it for years. All the pluses mentioned by other posters. The one drawback is the big footprint on legacy rooftop heliports unable to accommodate mgw. Gets a little dicey on scenes in rough terrain, but probably the best interfacility, long range aircraft.
This day in age is price point and product support. Igor got outmaneuvered by an industry that pushed a sportier, more practical size. The euro designs have all shapes and sizes for your operating budget. The 76 died with the dog model. So bad so they stopped production. There was also a gag order among the test pilots about the issues. C++ are selling way under value. D is less user friendly, expensive avionics updates, and just not a favorite.
If the H160 ever comes to fruition, the 76D will become a museum piece.
