Last year I had shoulder surgery. 5 weeks with a sling 5 more of physical therapy before I coauthor fly again. I applied ahead and got my first check 9 days after surgery. In my case I got 70% from insurance and my company made up the amount to base pay. Now then utility guys make about 25% of the year income from flight hours so I didn’t make that pay.
Also my AME spent about a minute asking for a range of motion display and passed me without any grief.
