HAA:  On your own, generally not much flying, no other pilots for comraderie except at shift change.  Forced to socialize with med crew, whether you like them or not, taking direction from individuals thay you may not agree with, possibly finding yourself in the 'hot seat' having to explaining your actions to individuals you have little respect for.

Gulf:  Lots of flying, opportunities for upgrades, good support groups, good equipment, good maintenance, generally good comraderie among pilots.  The main drawback, imo, is being away from home for extended periods, and having to deal with all that that entails, and communal living conditions.

Personally, I enjoyed flying in the Gulf more than ems, but I was also fortunate to be on some very cherry contracts with good interpersonal relationships with my customers and pax.
