In terms of time required, back in the 90's and even early 2000s, the minimums to higher were much higher. They started coming down in the mid 2000s - Not saying they are "too low", but in the 90s, if you didn't have thousands of horus of turbine time, good luck trying to get a job. 


Regional airlines were the same. It was extremely difficult to get a job with them. Now, they are practically begging people to come aboard.
