My original post was to point out how lame raises are in EMS. I guess I could have put a bit more emphasis on that. The airline friend did go thru a tough time after 9/11, got furloughed just after getting his line at USAir. His entire year group with his current gig is doing the same. Almost every one of them are recent empty nesters and have enough bank to just play golf every day.

You are right about green grass. The main reason I stay in the business is to stay close to ailing parents.
