Insurance actuaries from 27 different life insurance companies churned their data on 2.5 million death claims occurring in the first half of 2020 and compared them to prior years in regard to excess deaths. Regardless of any argument over the validity of cause of death, 6.7% of death claims were due to COVID-19.
There was no significant rise in death claims in the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. The average age at death was 79.5 for COVID-19 deaths and 78.9 for non-COVID-19 deaths. |
