Does anyone actually sump the fuel in this day and age? I have been sumping fuel from my helicopter for 15 years and never found a problem. Sure it's critical in piston engines, but jet engines suck up all kinds of stuff and keep on trucking. What a waste of time it is to go collecting fuel from under helicopters when you can be hitting that second cup of coffee to make sure you can 'see and avoid' while you are on your mission! |
