206 L4 steep approach   

Maybe it's my height but I'm able to put the area at the very bottom of the windshield throughout the approach on what I consider a steep approach. This site picture is fairly constant, allows me to keep evaluating the near barriers and study the landing area throughout approach. If the area is very small it is often helpful to shoot the approach to the downwind barriers, assuming an approach into the wind, and then essentially hovering down into the area. If you're working with areas this small OGE hover power is a must.

Looking out the side windows, for me, is mainly when I'm approaching with a sling or long line.
