Since you are interested in it congratulations on the offer.
I've worked with field types and FAA leaders in Washington and Oklahoma, all the way to the top.
There are some very bright people in the FAA, and others who have some learning and growing up to do.
If you accept and go to the academy for training be careful to come out of there knowing how to do your job and how to help the aviation community. Some issues can be corrected on the spot, others have to be written up.
Realize in the latter as soon as the issue is submitted it becomes very real for you and the entity to which it is lodged against.
Be real, not overly FAA enthusiastic, which is a product of the lobotomy you receive in training.
