Need fire experience  

Could be a good gig for someone who is ready to get into admin. The best ones are the ones who make it a calling to impart thier vast amounts of tribal knowledge to the up and comers. Unfortunately fire experience trakes a back seat to veterans points. More than one highly qualifed pilot was left behind in favor of a Vet with zero fire experience. Don't get me wrong veterans deserve all the mileage the points will get them provided they have the experience. I actually had a HIP tell me one time that he had zero long line experience while he was evaluating my long line demo. There was a time when a lot of the HIPS did not meet the basic hiring requirements for carding. I think the pendulum has swung the other way now.
