something military aviators get used to and perpetuate in the civil environment, which is ok, especially if it functions with respect to military ops, but the real solution in the civil environment to having information at hand and the ability to write a note or two isn't something that gets in the way, which to me, did.  

After doing away with the use of them I found no problem with a little clip board with the same information tuck away far from  the cyclic and collective.
