I don't think the big hospitals will give up their air programs, as that is used to bring in patients whose medical bills will be quite substantial.  The Airline Deregulation Act prevents the government from putting price controls on other air transports, so there isn't any reason for the independent/community-based locations to charge less, so there isn't much of a reason for them to close up shop based solely on changes to healthcare regulations.


On the other hand, if the Airline Deregulation Act is changed so that it doesn't apply to aeromedical services, and price regulations follow, I would expect a lot of AS350s and Bell 206/407s to hit the market.


Or, I could be wrong.
