That's probably the biggest fallacy about unions: that all they do is protect lazy, underperforming workers. The truth is that they protect all employees. A union can almost never save somebody's job when they are fired for just cause. It doesn't work that way. And you will always, ALWAYS have better pay and benefits when represented by a union.
