The election you mention was about a candidate who was an appointed member of the EB, who resigned from the company but chose to stay on as a paid EB member and treasurer, whom the members, including the current president spoke out against for being able to remain on the EB when not an employee of the company.   The only way for the members to get rid of that individual was for someone to run against him to so he didn't default into another 3 year term, never to leave.   The members had a choice to vote him out, knowing the individual who opposed him would "give the members their union back".   He kept his campaign promise, he didn't quit or coward-out.   He did what he promised he'd do!


The members GOT RID OF the very same type of individuals now occupying the union's head shed!  


And, he bowed out completely until, the current President arbitrarily banned someone from the forum for asking legitimate questions about his staying on as President.   Banned is a form of punishment.   Punishment was dished out WITHOUT ANY HEARING, PROCEDURE, EVIDENCE, OPPORTUNITY TO DEFEND, etc.   IOW, unethical actions by the indiviudals doing the banning!   And for an unannounced, indefinate period.   That is against the LAW (29 USC 411, SEC 101.a.(5)).


Standing up for the rights of members is the first thing that is important in unions.  When a union fails that, it fails altogether!  


A dues paying member never loses his right to speak out.   He supports this EB right up to the point they become hypocrites!   The job is easy....   let the members participate in their union!   They voted for SMS/ASAP, so they should have a vote to cancel it!
