when I flew HAA, in CA. Normal day rate was $41 an hour.. 8hours @ 1.0 and 4hours @ 1.5 = $574 a day for 12 hours. If you went to 14 hours, you'd get 2 hours @ 2.0. That's CA pay laws. Annual worked out to 105k all things considered for 182 shifts. Most of us at the base would hit 115k+ with training, travel, base meetings, and  workovers. Workover shift at "domicile" base was 12 hours @ 1.5 hourly = $738 for 12 hours. If it was a workover shift out of base, we would earn travel time to/from the base @ 1.5 hourly rate. To work a holiday it we would be paid @ 2.0 hourly for 12 = $984.

Lets say, on a holiday, I had a 2 hour drive to the workover base and equal drive time home, I'd be at 4 travel hours and 12 shift hours. since paid from same hourly rate ($41) that would be 16 hours @ $82=$1312.

I was at year 8 SPIFR pay in CA. Unless I picked up a shift with some serious travel time. Given the circumstances, I suppose the post of $1500 for the holiday shift is possible, just not probable.
