Sad but true, the reason you have to repay your dues when you switch and get into utility and fire- is because your past experience means very little and you have to learn skills from the ground up. There has never been a pilot to jump into a machine and smoothly execute precision external lift work....takes years. Fires are much less challenging and can be a great place to start your external load learning.
