Maybe, maybe not.  I'm sure there's more to that story.

But in my case, I did not say I lost my logbook or that I only had enough hours to show time for ratings.  My logbooks show plenty of time to satisfy just about everyone.  And since I stopped logging 15 years ago, I have continued to fly part 135 so I obviously have more time than when I stopped logging.

I never claim to have anytime that I can't show.  I only report the time I can show in my logbook and state, 'I had this many hours when I stopped logging in 2004, and since that time I have continued flying commercially.  I leave it up to them to do what they want with that information.  I have enough time and recency experience that I have never had any issues from anyone.

In court, I would say the exact same thing, and I have my logbook, lying right over there under 15 years of dust.
