I think one of the major disconnects here is that you seem to be upset you can't try new things in your utility sector. Myself, and I'd imagine the majority of the helicopter pilots on here are flying HAA. There's not exactly a whole lot of new ideas in picking up a patient and dropping them off somewhere else. Furthermore one of the last pilots I knew of that yearned for "more adventure" in his job went flying low level through the mountains and balled up a perfectly good aircraft, killing himself and another.

I bet most of us HAA guys aren't thrilled with all the regulations and new "safety ideas" that are thrust upon us, but one bad apple spoils the bunch and there's a never-ending supply of bad apples in HAA.
