That's what I was curious about, seems to be the general disposition of many pilots that they aren't interested in new things and adventure at work.  Work is just a means to be tolerated in order to get to time off.

I'm curious if you're not interested in an adventurous life, what attracted you to flying helicopters in the 1st place.  When I started I'd say it's almost universal the pilots were attracted to the adventure of it.  I'm seriously interested in what keeps you in a dnagerous profession if all you care about is getting home to your other life, wouldn't there be better professions to make sure you get home every day?

I work in the powerline industry.  Interestingly, most of our pilots and lineman do dangerous stuff on weekends also.  Lot's of sky divers, motorcyclist, rock climbers, racers, etc in the group.   Do you and your friends mostly do stuff in your off time that has much less risk than professional helicopter flying?
