every airline pays a minimum number of hours, even if you don’t block those hours. If you are on reserve and your contract pays 73 hours a month, you get paid that, even if you only fly 10 hours.  

You get paid what you fly over the minimum and there a lot of vairibales to it.

Some folks add in the per deim to their pay.  It is additinal pay when you are on duty and is payed 24 hours while on a trip.  Pilots gotta eat, and I’ve never worked an EMS or offshore job that paid perdeim.
