Reading these posts it seems most of the folks saying it can't be done are trying to find an argument that tells them they are justified in NOT WANTING TO DO IT. The fact is the 135 flight and duty time limitations are for just that...PART 135 OPERATIONS...they are put in place to protect the paying public...once the patient has been dropped off and you are just heading home to base the "transporting the public from A to B" Part 135 portion of the flight is DONE...the pilot can legally ferry the aircraft back to base under Part 91. If the whiners and complainers out there are still looking for a reason to say it cannot be done my advice to them is to just feign fatigue every time you are asked to do so...if you have been busy your entire 14 hour shift you are probably justified in saying so, but if you spent the majority of it sleeping then I would have a hard time believing you if you said you were tired.
