i do have a question.  You fly from point a to point b, pick up a patient, and the go to point c.  Is that one flight or two?  In my opinion it is two flights.  You plan to complete the entire trip, note I did not say flight, in under 14 hours.  While at ponit b you are delayed by circumstances beyond your control.  It is now obvious you cannot get from point b to point c in under 14 hours.  Can you leave point b.  I contend you may not.  You are starting a flight knowing you will go over 14 hours.

look at the airlines.  If they are delayed at an intermediate stop and they will go over the duty time they need to get a new crew.

each time you lift and land that is a flight.
