We operate Single-Pilot operations.  We don't operate dual pilot.   Using a non-flightcrew (ie, medical crewmembers) as a checklist reader in a challenge and response setting only sets up the pilot to miss something when he is actually single-pilot.   The medical crewmembers are not with him every flight.   So, why have the pilot do things differently one time he starts and operates the aircraft, from another time?   Every time he starts the aircraft should be the same, with or without medical crewmembers.   They should not be reading him checklists!   That's only making things less routine!

And, unless the Certificate Holder has a training form for those crewmembers they used to read checklists in their training folder, then we have no verification they have been trained properly to give a Challenge and Response checklist.   What if the medical crewmembers misses a checklist step?  Who is liable?  Was the crewmember trained?  Was it documented?  Is the medical crewmember subject to FAA oversight, or line check scrutiny?

It is a bad idea!   And, a certifcate holder should be pressured by a customer (ie, a hospital) to have their medical crewmembers particpate in such a system, particularly when such is not covered by any GOM or approved Training Manual policy/procedure!
