Been doing it for a few years. 9 months out of the year it's a sweet job. The other 3 months however, you have to use all of your willpower to not plow it straight into the side of the canyon. when it's 118 outside and your "AC" is blowing 90-100 out of the vents and a forigner who knows they are prone to air sickness, yet still chugged half a bottle of spiced rum before the flight throws up in your lap and then bails with no tip, the decent tour money seems less worth it. Hell, building turbine time doesnt even seem worth it at that point.

With that being said, it's a great place to work and they pay you a very livable wage. Especially for how broke most CFIs after getting paid next to nothing, it's probably the highest paying job one can get right out of instruction.

As long as you have a good head on your shoulders and arent an arrogent person who thinks your above tours, it's not as bad as people say.

Mav southrim is a completly different company than vegas. you will make more at vegas and fly less. You'll do one flight a day on average in the winter, and sometimes get standby days. That means you still get paid and sit at home browsing p*rnhub...i mean read your RFM.

Summer you do 2 to 3 flights on average. a flight can be 30min long or a 1.5hr. You'll make an average of 380 a day before you account for tips which can be avarage of 40-100 a flight. Maverick has a higher end clientele generally* than the other companies which reflects in tips. It's not unreasonable to leave at the end of the day with 500+.

If you know someone here that can vouch for your character and flying ability it will put you miles ahead of any other resume.
