Every time a military pilot straps on an aircraft to conduct an actual mission, there is a real possibilty they may have to give their lives in the line of duty for the overall good of the mission. Nobody is planning to give their lives that day but they accept it is a possibility. Ask a military pilot who has gone into harms ways if they have not had missions where they went out but were uncertain if they were going to come back.

So yes there are missions, especially for national security, that are worth someone's life. Some just haven't had to do it. Had the person who wrote the list (B&W) specified that he was talking about peacetime, civilian flying, I would have agreed but he didn't say. There are military and civilian pilots on this site so he made a pretty broad statement.

Plus, #4 is BS too. If the top priority of any company is Safety then nothing would ever be accomplished as everyone would just sit in a padded room. Conducting whatever the company's priorty safely should be the real focus.
