I've noticed a trend. These crashes often have evidence of high speed CFIT. Does no one ever teach you fools in IIMC to immediately slow down??? Seems easy, works for the rest of us. Encounter low forward vis cut your forward airspeed by 50% with another 50% of that planned immediately !
from there go to your insterments, wings level, coordinated turn 180 back to clear air.
of course this is 30 year old basic airmanship but its saved me many times.
