And why they require so few hours to fly utility. I did it. Was fun but got old fast. Been flying HEMS for 8 years and I still enjoy it. HEMS is what you make of it. I try to be professional and have my stuff ready to go. When the call comes in at 2am I can safely wake up and check weather and get my risk assessment approved and Depart base enroute to a scene I’ve never been to in under ten minutes. I do it quickly yet safely through experience and drive.
On the other hand you have the people Who do anything they can to turn a flight down and take forever to get the most basic of tasks completed (in the name of being safe of course) helping to give HEMS a bad rep. I have none of these at my base, thankfully.
