Chuck Yeager types? While this "discussion" has been going on for eons, why is it everytime the maintenance side is called out as "incompentant, egoistic, boozers?" Back when I wrenched in Utility, Seismic, and Fires everyone shared a cold one after a long day and worked togather to keep the aircraft safe... and flying. Now, it seems the real pilots have left. And I'll be the first to cringe when several of those stick-wigglers would fly MY aircraft as they did not understand transient limits, etc. So whatever your axe to grind give it a rest. Maybe I'm too old now to expect people to take responsibility for their own actions.

As for flying 25 years in a 500 with ""incompentant, egoistic, boozing" mechanics and you're still ALIVE... well who is the fool now my friend? You're only "stuck" with whatever you wish to be stuck with.
