If you fly at altitudes that are below the obstacles, while climbing after takeoff, or descending for landing, the TAWS won't shut up. It's a nuisance, and if it distracts you just at the wrong time, you might not live to regret it.
Have you ever landed on a rooftop pad in downtown, with bigger buildings all around you? I am assuming not. Not only that, you could have a high antennna or structure a couple of miles off your course, and the TAWs, or HTAWS in this case could start blaring. |
