Exactly, you are not going to see anything from the small images and short clips that made it to the news.  Even on accidents that were determined to be from bird strikes / geese where there were higher detailed shots taken from the ground you dont see the birds.  They end up turning into goo and get smeered into the deeper parts of the cabin and only having feet on the ground and walking around and looking into the cabin areas do you start to see the evidence.  Especially on a case like this where the ground impact caused so much destruction to the cabin its hard to even pick out large parts of the aircraft.  

Below are from a fatal AMC 407 accident from geese hit the aircraft and windshield.  Even here you wont see them, let alone from a news helicopter circling above that purposely was not zooming in as tight as they could due to unfortunate reasons.
