Bell 407 - direct to Dothan non-stop, gas at Dothan while patient being prepped, direct home.

EC135 - gas at Montgomery, gas at Dothan while patient being prepped, gas at Montgomery (now with patient onboard).

One costs a lot less per hour than the other.  I'll let you figure out which one it is. 

Oh, the medcrew have a bit more elbow room (assuming it's not an isolette, then it's probably similarly cramped), so you're right... MUCH more capable. 

Would be faster to have gone in Children's old Cessna Citation (and probably same cost as the EC135 trip) if you want to talk about the IFR piece to this (they've always had the Citation).
