Of all the services to join, it's the one that consistently gives bonuses to it's pilots and this one comes in real nice JUST in time for Christmas:)

So max of $50k per year for 12 years. 12 years would put you pretty high in the seniority list.

This bonus is an attempt to retain pilots who have finished their 9 year UPT commitments. Thus is targeted at experienced senior captains or Majors...instructors, evaluators, weapons school grads etc. This bonus will carry you thru to a 20 year retirement. Yeah, you could be senior at a major airline or furloughed from said airline as well. The current hiring boom won't last forever but a military retirement will.

Withdrawal their family members had to pay to have the loved ones bodies flown back to the USA.  Tens of thousands of $ for each body but your creepy uncle puppet joe on his last brain cell had no problem leaving a trillion dollars worth of military hardware behind not to forget American citizens behind as well.  So you don't think for a second there's a million strings holding service members to account for the fake bonus? 

compared to what you'll make at the airlines in that time frame. I doubt most pilots would consider it for more than 10 seconds. oh yeah, but it's just in time for Christmas!! lol

The military should just start the draft and problem solved.  Save my tax dollars from going to military under achievers.  

you can draft people but you can't make them stay forever  and how would this ever save any money. 

Reinstate the draft. All individuals 18 through 20 get drafted.   After two years sort out the ones that are worth anything and let the other 99% go.   That way you filtered out the 1% that's worth anything in the military and maybe they will be worth something 10 years down the road instead of being a TAX LEACH.   The military in most cases is just glorified welfare for the 99% losers that are there.   

You get a whopping $600K to be away from your wife and kids while you go to a far away land and bomb women and children.

...Desk Jockeys their "senior" pilots which is why they have a retention problem like all the rest. Pilots who want to be pilots will ALWAYS leave the military. 

safe occupation.  Lost 2500 people in Vietnam.  Army lost 38,000 plus, USMC 14,000+, etc.

Same old thing, Army carries the load, other services take the positive accolades, Army gets the spoils.  Oh well, just a matter of understanding.
