The best job I ever had was around the mid 200s. I got hired for a DOD contract by Evergreen AK, but the heliocpter I was supposed to fly was unavailable on some other gig.

After about a month the helicopter still hadn't shown up, so they checked me out in a couple other helicopters, and told me to wait. Eventually the contract got cancelled but they kept me on for the year and I never flew once.

Every day I went fishing or hiking or 4 wheeling, smoking cigars at the local cigar shop, even rented airplanes and took some trips, and just collected my checks. As I recall I think it was a little over 5k a month. I almost felt guily, but hey, I'm not the boss.

After that ended, I had to start working again.

Yea, like you sat back for the minimum wages Evergreen paid in one of the most expensive states to exist. Sounds like paradise!
