After decades of being underpaid, I've decided it's my turn to name the terms of my employment. May the best offer win. Up my pay substantially and I'll consider staying. Finally, it's nice to see pilots on the winning side of the negotiating table.

My guess is those who care will never see the request. The girl in the back room takes care of it. If they do they just consider you a short timer and you lose out.

Just tell your boss that you are looking at your options with the market as it is. Just hope it doesn't backfire.

you arnt special, and I bet you don't even have any qualifications that are special, because those guys, already are getting paid what they're worth as the company knows.

there could be a million young hungry pilots out there but they dont qualify for most of the open jobs. how is it even possible to not to know this. lol

are 40 guys lined up to take my job. gee, I wonder why my company doesn't hire any of them for any of the empty spots we have. It's complete mystery

Name these jobs you're so overqualified to have? What special skills do you have demanding such a high pay?

because if you've drank the kool-aid this hard hopefully at least you have some stake in it and aren't just a company man praying for his boss to unzip his pants trickle down on him.

it's not being overqualified, it's being qualified. those 40 young and hungry guys are UNQUALIFIED. they don't have the time to meet requirements to even get a second look. that's why they don't have jobs and they're not going to get them until they do. you should be able to figure this out bro. it's not complicated.

YOUR employer will not even blink at you leaving....you think your the only one to think of that?  BRO come on BRO....they won't even blink...every company believes if you end up leaving, you will eventually come back because the grass isn't always greener outside their company...Unfortunately they are wrong...

my employer definitely does not want me to leave when they already have 100 plus open spots. hiring (even hiring somebody back) is expensive. onboarding and training takes 4-6 weeks before you are on the line plus all the open shifts that go unfilled. they would much rather keep you. most that quit don't come back anyway so it it's a stupid thing to say. you have zero idea what you are talking about bro.

If you've been underpaid for decades, I don't think this brilliant plan is going to do much for you. Try just saying you're quitting instead of waiting for a PRIA request to come in. Generally speaking, they send in the PRIA paperwork after you've accepted an offer. What's the difference between resigning and having them find out through a PRIA request. The difference: you'll probably get fired when the get the PRIA request. How you could possibly think this would work in your favor is hilarious.

hostage like that...lol....your too new in this industry to think that....i know some pretty steller pilots thaat were High Time SPIFR leave some of the top OG and Air Med companies and were there for 10-15yrs...one person I knew was there 25yrs...great employees...when they turned in their 2 weeks....not one person from the company asked "what can we do to make you stay".....some asked for more money like the sign on bonus's they are paying the NEW pilots coming on board.....every manager said "nope"....we can't do that...

so they would rather pay OT, travel time etc and training a new pilot than pay that ....stupid...most companies will spend $100k to fix a $15k problem...
