You didnt mention how the aircraft was being stored outside.  With airconditioning, visors, location from office space... I'm not a big fan of putting on a heat soaked helmet during the summer months or trying to defrost the ear cups and head liner in the winter.  Leaving your iPad/phone in areas where the temp goes way up such as a clsoed cockpit, you may run into delays as the unit returns to operating temps before allowing power up.  Batteries as well as electronics as a whole don't really react well to extreme temp changes.
