While I enjoy the banter on here, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to identify that this industry has a lot of bad actors. Sadly, some of the worst make to management roles at major companies. The industry is very small and connected, so filtering the bad news on here really accomplishes nothing. It does however help the youngsters who might not be as connected from making a bad choice. Personally, I just pick the phone when I want to know anything about anybody. Granted, I'm older than most and I enjoy helping others not make the same mistakes I did. Find yourself a mentor and develop an inner circle. Spend less time here and more time really networking. I am absolutely amazed how many of my peers make $200+ in this line of work. Trust me, it ain't because they heard it here. |

$200+? I doubt that very definitely. I've been with AEL for 22 years and make a little over $1K with no raises in sight. I wish I was 10 years youger, I'd go with the airlines in a heartbeat!! |

put. Helicopter operations management tends to be occupied by military disciplinarians than real management types who know how to use all situations to further a persons career for the better of the company. Discipline is an ignorant thing in something as delicate as aviation, has no place, but corporate like control words so don't expect it to change. |
